Common Name:Black Snub-nosed Monkey
Type Locality:China, Yunnan, left bank of upper Mekong, Kiape, 2825'N, 9855'E, "a day's journey south of Atentse."
Distribution:Ridge of Mekong-Salween divide, Yunnan (China).
Status:CITES Appendix I; U.S. ESA and IUCN Endangered.
Comments:Considered a subspecies of roxellana by Groves (1970:569), but regarded as a full species by Peng et al. (1988).
