Common Name:Black Tamarin
Type Locality:Brazil: Belem.
Distribution:Brazil, south of the Amazon, east of the Rio Xingu, including Marajo Isl.
Status:CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Least Concern.
Comments:S. midas species group. Formerly called tamarin, but this is a synonym of S. midas: see Hershkovitz (1977:711). Separated from S. midas by Natori and Hanihara (1988).
