Common Name:Juliana’s Golden Mole
Type Locality:South Africa, Gauteng, Pretoria, The Willows.
Distribution:Pretoria (Gauteng), Nylstroom (Limpopo Prov.) and Kruger Nat. Park (Mpumalanga, South Africa).
Status:IUCN – Critically Endangered as Amblysomus julianae.
Comments:Consistent dental and fur differences between the western (Pretoria and Nylstroom) and eastern (Kruger Nat. Park) populations allude to distinct subspecies (Meester, 1972; Bronner 1990), but study of more specimens is needed to confirm this.
