Common Name:Visagie’s Golden Mole
Type Locality:South Africa, Western Cape Prov., Gouna (54 mi. [87 km] E Calvinia).
Distribution:Known only from the holotype.
Status:IUCN – Critically Endangered.
Comments:Subgenus Chrysochloris. Possibly an aberrant asiatica; see Meester (1974). Simonetta (1968:31) listed it as a subspecies of asiatica.
