Common Name:Long-tailed Pygmy Possum
Type Locality:Indonesia, Prov. of Papua (= Irian Jaya), Vogelkop, Manokwari Div., Arfak Mtns.
Distribution:Interior New Guinea, above 1500 m; Fergusson Isl (Papua New Guinea); NE Queensland (Australia).
Status:IUCN Lower Risk (nt) as C. c. macrurus, Lower Risk (lc) as C. c. caudatus. Common.
Comments:Includes macrura (see Ride, 1970:224). Formerly included in Eudromicia; see comment under genus.
