Van Bree (1973) considered asiaeorientalis to be of subspecific rank and sunameri to be synonymous with phocaenoides. Rice (1998:123) recognized N. p. phocaenoides, N. p. sunameri (Sunameri) and N. p. asiaeorientalis (Yangtse River Porpoise). |
