Type Locality:"Habitat in Oceano Europeao", restricted to Norway, near Svalbard, Spitsbergen Sea by Thomas (1911a).
Distribution:Worldwide: arctic to tropical waters.
Status:CITES – Appendix I; U.S. ESA and IUCN – Endangered.
Comments:Reviewed by Gambell (1985b). Rice (1998:77) recognized B. b. quoyi (sic) (Southern Fin Whale).
