Common Name:Kashmir Musk Deer
Type Locality:India or Pakistan, "Kashmir (no precise locality)".
Distribution:Himalayas of India and Pakistan in Kashmir, and N Afghanistan.
Status:CITES – Appendix I; U.S. ESA – Endangered.
Comments:Originally described as a subspecies of chrysogaster; very similar to leucogaster; Groves et al. (1995) suggested that cupreus might be a separate species.
