Distribution:Mexico (West coastal regions from Sinaloa to Oaxaca).
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Reviewed by Medellín et al. (1998a), from which synonyms are allocated. Ewer (1973) argued that pygmaea is conspecific with putorius.
