Distribution:Szechwan and Yunnan to Kiangsu (China); Hong Kong; N Thailand; Burma; Vietnam.
Status:IUCN 2003 and IUCN/SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Included in the species myotis by Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951) and Zhang Yongzu et al. (1997), but see Lekagul and McNeely (1977), Corbet (1978c), Horácek et al. (2000), and Kawai et al. (2003). Reviewed by Bates et al. (1999). Two subspecies are sometimes recognized, but these do not adequately correspond to known variation in the species; see Bates et al. (1999) and Hendrichsen et al. (2001b).
