(1219 m) | Distribution: | Sabah and Sarawak (Borneo), Malaysia, at middle elevations (Payne et al., 1985). | Status: | IUCN – Lower Risk (lc). | Comments: | Formerly considered a subspecies of C. nigrovittatus (e.g., Medway, 1977:92), but clearly distinct (Payne et al., 1985). Includes Glyphotes canalvus, which Moore (1959) placed in subgenus Hessonoglyphotes; these names are now synonyms of Callosciurus. Closely related to adamsi (see comments therein). |
