Common Name:Northern Amazon Red Squirrel
Type Locality:Brazil, Amazonas, north of the Rio Negro, Marabitanos.
Distribution:Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela.
Status:IUCN Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Subgenus Urosciurus; see Patton (1984). Lawrence (1988:1) restricted duida to this species although it has also been referred to S. spadiceus; the holotype is a composite.
