Type Locality:Brazil, Rio Madeira, Borba.
Distribution:South of the Rio Solimões from Rio Purús to Rio Madeira, Brazil.
Status:CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Subgenus Callicebus. C. cupreus species group. A synonym of cupreus according to Groves (2001c), who thought it was a colour morph, but shown to be a distinct, allopatric species by van Roosmalen et al. (2002).
