Common Name:Golden Bandicoot
Type Locality:Australia, Western Australia, Derby.
Distribution:Australia: Formerly Northern Territory and N Western Australia, survives in NW of Western Australia and on Barrow Isl.
Status:IUCN – Vulnerable as I. auratus, I. a. auratus, and I. a. barrowensis. Rare.
Comments:See Ride (1970:96) and Lyne and Mort (1981), who recognized arnhemensis and barrowensis as distinct species. A revision based on wider material is needed.
