Common Name:Long-tailed Planigale
Type Locality:Australia, Northern Territory, Alexandria.
Distribution:Australia: N and E Queensland, NE Northern Territory, NE Western Australia.
Status:U.S. ESA – Endangered as P. i. subtilissima; IUCN – Lower Risk (lc)..
Comments:See Archer (1976:351). Woolley (1974) suggested that Western Australian P. i. subtilissima may be specifically distinct. A related but distinct species, referred to simply as Planigale 2 by Painter at al. (1995), is known from the Pilbara, Western Australia.
