Comments:Reviewed by Berta (1982). Placed in Cerdocyon by Langguth (1975), Stains (1975), and Berta (1982); placed in subgenus Canis (Cerdocyon) by Van Gelder (1978). Synonyms allocated according to Berta, (1982) and Cabrera (1957).
