Common Name:Bale Mountains Vervet
Type Locality:Ethiopia, bamboo forest near Abera, east of Lake Abaya, 3300 m.
Distribution:Ethiopia, highlands east of Lakes Abiata, Shalla and Zway.
Status:CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Data Deficient as Cercopithecus aethiops djamdjamensis.
Comments:A distinctive species, first recognized (as a subspecies) as distinct from aethiops by Dandelot and Prévost (1972); raised to species rank by Kingdon (1977).
