Motion Concerning Herbarium

- Wayne E. Manning and his students amassed over 20,000 herbarium specimens (pressed, dried specimens) between 1945 and his retirement in 1968. Following Dr. Manning’s retirement, the specimens were moved from the Botany Building to the attic of Taylor Hall to free space for additional Biology faculty. The collection of specimens were returned to the Botany Building in 1977. Approval of this motion named the collection “The Wayne E. Manning Herbarium.” The collection now resides in Biology 319.
