The
Christy Mathewson - Memorial Stadium is home to Bison football,
track & field, and lacrosse.
The
Bucknell Bison football team has enjoyed renewed success under
head coach Tom Gadd. Hired in 1995, Gadd has not had a losing
season since his arrival. In fact, Bucknell is one of only nine
Division I-AA teams in the nation to claim seven straight winning
seasons. In only his second year at Bucknell, Coach Gadd led
the Bison to the Patriot League championship. The following
year, he was nominated for the Eddie Robinson Division 1-AA
Coach of the Year.
The
Bison track and field enjoyed tremendous success under the late
head coach Art Gulden. In his 31 years of coaching at Bucknell,
Coach Gulden led the men and women's teams to 68 conference
titles. Kevin Donner, who took over as coach in 2001, has continued
the winning tradition, as Bucknell's women's cross country and
indoor track & field teams have already captured league
championships in 2001-02.
Bucknell's
men's lacrosse team achieved a top-10 ranking, a Patriot League
title and its first-ever NCAA Tournament bid in 2001. Under
the direction of Sid Jamieson, the only head coach in the 35-year
history of the program, the Bison annually boast a nationally
competitive men's lacrosse squad.
